Sight & SoundSight and Sound
On March 8th, 2008, 2nd Thief enjoyed a wonderfully blessed day on the motorcoach trip to Sight & Sound Theaters' production of "Daniel". Three generations were represented and it was a wonderful day of fellowship, good food and an amazing performance by the gifted actors at sight and sound. They brought the story of Daniel and the biblical prophecies to life. If you have never been to Sight and Sound we greatly encourage you to sign up for the next motorcoach trip with 2nd Thief. We toss aside "disposable" items and, unfortunately, this includes people. Life is already hard and we only complicate it when we view children and widows and widowers as a "problem" and not as individuals with particular needs. Fortunately, God does not view us as a problem but, rather, as individuals with needs to be met. God meets those needs first at the Cross of His Son, Jesus, and then through the power of His Spirit as we walk humbly with Him in love.
2nd Thief Ministries was honored to be able to support Angel Tree children from the Manassas and Harrisonburg areas. Thirty six children in all were sponsored and we want to thank all of those who were blessings to the program and supported a child. 2nd Thief would also like to say a very special thank you to Java Rock, who provided a great location and atmosphere for the party.
This year, the Angel Tree children in Manassas, Gainesville and Haymarket were invited to an Angel Tree Party at Java Rock in Manassas, VA. It was a great time for the childen and a true blessing to the ministry and all of those who attended. The Ladies of 2nd Thief prepared an awesome arrangement of food and snacks, the 2nd Thief Band was on hand to bring Christmas Carols and carolers, and Preacher Crane shared the message of grace and love. The ministry was touched by the hearts of the young children and their parents and we want everyone to know that we all had a blast!
Angel Tree is our signature outreach event for the year and we are coordinating an even larger effort for Christmas 2008 by working with local churches and businesses to sponsor many more children and families through the Angel Tree Program.
