Let’s pick up our Great Adventure with the 2nd Thief Band who appeared at the Daily Grind in Gainesville in August. It is absolutely a pleasure for the Ministry to appear at that location as it has become our “clubhouse.” We try to play at that venue as often as we can.
Many times you have seen written in this Byline how busy we stay. Praise you Father for that as it is a joy to share the Good News. What we also know how to do is rest in Him and fellowship as believers together.
Case in point is the 2nd Thief Ministries Independence Day 2008 Ride & Picnic. Last year we held our celebration at Shenandoah National Park and I was inclined to go back. But thanks be to God for the beloved Twells. She brought to my attention the Shenandoah River State Park that is just south of Front Royal, VA. Woo wee are we all glad she did.
Anytime a Ministry incorporates motorcycles as a way of bringing the Good News you can believe one thing. The warmer weather aka “Riding Season” brings all kinds of opportunities to minister. It falls to us to be led of His Spirit to discern what we should participate in…and what we shouldn’t. The reality is that Spiritual fruit is produced by the Spirit, not the flesh. And we as a Ministry desire to produce fruit.
It’s been an amazing month here at 2nd Thief. Wide open as usual with the Ministry participating in six rides/events that occurred during the month of May. The funny thing is while we do stay busy it is not a wearisome kind. It is a humble privilege to share the Good News. What’s more is we have discovered that if you operate in the giftings He has given you there is an accompanying joy in your spirit that defies description.
Woo wee, the riding season is in full effect and we all love it! I do want to mention the following events/rides. We as a Ministry would love to have you join us at any or all of them. Be sure to check in with us periodically as more are being prayerfully considered.
Well Christmas 2007 is a fond memory and we are fully into 2008. It is my prayer that this year will be a year that we all will grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ . By design the Ministry elected to take the month of January and prayerfully discern what outreaches and events the Lord would have us coordinate and participate. That included no appearances by the Band so they could do some recording. There were two “all hands” Ministry meetings so we could keep pace with all the calls for service.
