Let’s pick up our Great Adventure with the 2nd Thief Band who appeared at the Daily Grind in Gainesville in August. It is absolutely a pleasure for the Ministry to appear at that location as it has become our “clubhouse.” We try to play at that venue as often as we can.
Many times you have seen written in this Byline how busy we stay. Praise you Father for that as it is a joy to share the Good News. What we also know how to do is rest in Him and fellowship as believers together.
Case in point is the 2nd Thief Ministries Independence Day 2008 Ride & Picnic. Last year we held our celebration at Shenandoah National Park and I was inclined to go back. But thanks be to God for the beloved Twells. She brought to my attention the Shenandoah River State Park that is just south of Front Royal, VA. Woo wee are we all glad she did.
Anytime a Ministry incorporates motorcycles as a way of bringing the Good News you can believe one thing. The warmer weather aka “Riding Season” brings all kinds of opportunities to minister. It falls to us to be led of His Spirit to discern what we should participate in…and what we shouldn’t. The reality is that Spiritual fruit is produced by the Spirit, not the flesh. And we as a Ministry desire to produce fruit.
It’s been an amazing month here at 2nd Thief. Wide open as usual with the Ministry participating in six rides/events that occurred during the month of May. The funny thing is while we do stay busy it is not a wearisome kind. It is a humble privilege to share the Good News. What’s more is we have discovered that if you operate in the giftings He has given you there is an accompanying joy in your spirit that defies description.
Woo wee, the riding season is in full effect and we all love it! I do want to mention the following events/rides. We as a Ministry would love to have you join us at any or all of them. Be sure to check in with us periodically as more are being prayerfully considered.
The official motorcycle riding season has finally arrived here in Northern Virginia (some of us ride all year…there I feel better). I want to mention that the Ladies of 2nd Thief continue to provide presentations throughout the year that creatively demonstrate the love and grace of Jesus for the AWANA’s club meeting at Warrenton Bible Fellowship. They also have been running the “2nd Thief Café and Store” when the Band appears at Java Rock and other venues. They truly have servant hearts and this Ministry would not be as effective without them.
