Well Christmas 2007 is a fond memory and we are fully into 2008. It is my prayer that this year will be a year that we all will grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ . By design the Ministry elected to take the month of January and prayerfully discern what outreaches and events the Lord would have us coordinate and participate. That included no appearances by the Band so they could do some recording. There were two “all hands” Ministry meetings so we could keep pace with all the calls for service.
Well we’re running wide open here at the Ministry with no shortage of calls-for-service. It is times like these that make it incumbent upon us to seek our Father’s will. You see, there are numerous rides and events with which we as a Ministry could participate that are “acceptable.” Many more of them are even “good,” but the “best” is what we are seeking to be about. And when it comes down to, it I think all of us struggle with that at some level.
The official motorcycle riding season has finally arrived here in Northern Virginia (some of us ride all year…there I feel better). I want to mention that the Ladies of 2nd Thief continue to provide presentations throughout the year that creatively demonstrate the love and grace of Jesus for the AWANA’s club meeting at Warrenton Bible Fellowship. They also have been running the “2nd Thief Café and Store” when the Band appears at Java Rock and other venues. They truly have servant hearts and this Ministry would not be as effective without them.
Woo wee, the riding season is in full effect and we all love it! I do want to mention the following events/rides. We as a Ministry would love to have you join us at any or all of them. Be sure to check in with us periodically as more are being prayerfully considered.
It’s been an amazing month here at 2nd Thief. Wide open as usual with the Ministry participating in six rides/events that occurred during the month of May. The funny thing is while we do stay busy it is not a wearisome kind. It is a humble privilege to share the Good News. What’s more is we have discovered that if you operate in the giftings He has given you there is an accompanying joy in your spirit that defies description.
