The year continues to bring even more exciting ways to share the Love and Grace of our Heavenly Father. The collaboration with Operation Starting Line has enabled us to serve more effectively for the Kingdom and encourages us in our walk with Him as well. We also will have the privilege of sharing the Good News through the “Message of the 2nd Thief” at the Rotary Club meeting in Fairfax, VA on 3/6/07. A Seminar on “How to Effectively Share Your Faith (through discovering your God-given gifts and talents)” will be presented on 3/11/07 at Evergreen Community Church in Manassas, VA. Warrenton Bible Fellowship has graciously invited the Ministry to speak again on 3/19/07 at their AWANA meeting that evening.
The work on the basic website upgrade is mostly complete at this point. It is our desire that the “New Face” of 2nd Thief is even more user friendly and that the message of God’s “Grace in Action” resonates with those who visit with us. Tim’s handiwork is inspired and he has been ever diligent during this process. He is a man who truly “redeems the time.” He and his lovely wife LeaAnn are in the process of enhancing their riding skills by taking a motorcycle safety course offered in the area. They also are the proud owners of a brand new Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 Low. It is very exciting to know that we will be taking lots of rides together “Declaring the Good News…On Two Wheels.”
The last two months have been busy here at the Ministry; we had the opportunity to conduct several outreaches in the Northern Virginia area and even one down in Colonial Heights, VA. The Colonial Heights outreach was special for two reasons. Not only did we get to share the Good News with youth groups from two churches, but the newest members of the 2nd Thief Team joined us. Scott and Terri Wells answered the call of our Heavenly Father to the Ministry. Both bring with them a love for the Lord that is evident to all. Scott is a gifted musician with a heart for worship and counseling. Terri is a gifted teacher with a special place in her heart for children. They both passionately desire to glorify their Heavenly Father with their individual giftings and be led of His Spirit.
Well nothing has slowed down here at the Ministry, quite the contrary we have more calls-for service than ever. It is a joy inexpressible for us here to be able to be about our Father’s business.
During the last month or so the Ministry preached a wedding at Cape Cod, MA; enjoyed a Fourth of July Ride & Picnic up on Skyline Drive; rode to Snowshoe, WV and spent three days at the Freedom Fest Rally; Rode to the Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad Station with 60 other bikers on the “Ride for Lexie” that was to pray for and encourage Lexie and her family—the 2nd Thief Band was on hand too; they also played at the Daily Grind in Gainesville and the Java Rock in Manassas.
Well it is time to update the Byline and catch everyone up on all that has been happening around here at 2nd Thief.
